Groups for children and young people at St Mary's Theydon Bois take place on a Sunday during the 10.30 service on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month and are run in partnership with the Red Balloon Family Foundation
Groups are provided for children from pre-school age to year 6 and take place in the parish centre, which is adjacent to the main worship space. The children begin the service in church, leave for their groups during the first hymn and remain in their groups until the end of the service, except on the 3rd Sunday of the month when they return to the main service half way after the sermon.
Parents are welcome to remain in the pre-school group, but the parents of older children are asked to return to the main service once your children are in the care of our team of volunteer leaders.
St Mary's also welcomes children to join the choir, leading the singing on the second and third Sundays of the month, and rehearsing every Monday from 4.45 - 5.30; where the children are working towards completing the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) Voice for life scheme. For more details please contact Hugh Meteyard via the Benefice office.
All those who work with children and young people in the parish are appropriately DBS checked and minister following the principles of the Diocese of Chelmsford Safeguarding policy.
