NEW ASSOCIATE PRIEST - A REQUEST FOR HELP
Rev Carol Newnham, currently Curate at St Thomas' Beacontree, will be joining the team in the Benefice as our Associate Priest soon. She will be licensed by the Archdeacon of Harlow in a special service to be held on Thursday 8th November at 7.30p.m. at St Mary's Stapleford Tawney. Please come along and let's fill the church to welcome her. A picture of Carol, and her brief biography can be found on the Benefice website, or in paper form at the back of the churches.
Rev Carol is moving into her new home on Thursday 18th October, this the first time she and her family have lived in a church property, and she is in need of some office furniture. If anyone has spare desk, office chair, filing cabinets or small soft furniture, which they would be willing to donate, please contact the Vicar.
On the evening of Sunday the 11th November the Benefice will be joining in the national Beacon lighting to conclude Remembrance Sunday. There will be a bring and share tea in The Gatehouse at All Saints TG at 6 p.m. and a beacon lighting ceremony in the next door field at 7 p.m. when we will read the names of all who died in the first world war from the churches of the Benefice. This will also be an opportunity to meet our new associate priest in an informal setting.
Thank you to everyone across the Benefice who helped make Harvest Sunday such a special occasion in all the churches, and in particular to those who gave their time to decorate our buildings with flowers and produce.
