APCMs (ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETINGS) & ELECTORAL ROLLS

In April, an APCM will be held in each of the churches of the Benefice. In order to vote at the meetings or to stand to serve on the Parochial Church Council it is necessary to be on the electoral roll. The whole roll is revised from scratch every 6 years, and 2019 is the year this will take place. Membership is open to all who live in the parish or have attended church regularly for a period of 6 months. The dates when the rolls is open will differ in each church; please look out for the notices in your church over the next month and complete the forms which will be found at the back of each church, you must complete a new Application Form even if you are presently on the Roll.  Please look out for information in the church buildings from Kate Faccinni. Forms for any church may also be returned via the Benefice Office.

CONFIRMATION

There is an opportunity to be Confirmed by the Bishop of Chelmsford in the cathedral on Saturday 20th April at 7p.m. Could anyone who is interested in making a commitment to following Jesus in this way, speak to one of the clergy.

SPRING CLEANING THE CHURCH BUILDINGS

The Vicar and Wardens are going to be having a New Year declutter of the buildings.  We ask that you please check the lost property collections in the churches or other areas for items which could belong to you.  If there are items which are used for ministry in which you are involved, please can they be placed in a cupboard or clearly stabled storage box.  Items not clearly stored, claimed or clearly labelled may be disposed of at the end of February.

BARKING AREA VOCATIONS EVENT

God calls different people to different ministries in the church and the world, and there is going to be an opportunity to explore a range of vocations and ministry opportunities in this Diocese and the wider Church of England at the forthcoming Vocations event on Saturday 2nd March at St Mary's Loughton, from 9.00a.m.-2.00p.m. Bishop Peter will be the keynote speaker and there will be opportunities to explore both lay and ordained ministries. Is God calling you? (even in the faintest whisper of a call perhaps.) The Vicar would love to hear from anyone looking to explore their own vocation. (Our Vicar is also the Vocations Advisor for the Epping Forest and Ongar Deanery.)

CONTACTS IN THE UNITED BENEFICE

Email contacts for the Vicar and Benefice Administrator have changed, please use vicar@theydonparishes.org or office@theydonparishes.org to contact John or Sarah.  Our Vicar is trying to be more disciplined in using email, and will not have access to email on the move, so sometimes it may take a little longer for a reply to be sent.
