Baptism
Whether as a baby, child or adult, baptism is at the heart of an amazing journey of faith as a follower of Jesus Christ.
Baptism of adults or children (often referred to as a Christening), is a marker of the beginning of a journey with God.
This journey is life long, and coming to Baptism is a step making a positive response to the love of God for all people, as revealed through the life and work of Jesus Christ.
It is not about having all the answers, but it is about wanting to bring Jesus into the centre of life.
Baptism is available at all the churches in the main Sunday morning service and it is also possible to arrange a special service on a Sunday.

Thanksgiving Service
A special church service, different from a christening, can be used as a way to say thank you to God for your child.
It’s possible to have this service instead of a christening if you decide that now isn’t the right time to have your child baptized.
You might also choose this service when your baby is just born, or if you have adopted a child into your family and you simply want to celebrate this with special words said by the Vicar in our Church.
Whatever the reason, we'd be delighted to talk to you about this service. To make arrangements or to ask questions please use our 'Contact Us' page.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized.
If you were baptized at a christening when you were a child, your parents and godparents made these promises on your behalf. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ.
At a confirmation service, you make these promises for yourself. Your friends and family as well as the local Christian community will be there to promise to support and pray for you.
The local bishop will lay their hands on your head and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give you the strength and commitment to live God’s way for the rest of your life.
