The Five Marks of Mission

 

As Christians, we believe in living out our faith through a variety of ways.

The Church of England adopted the Five Marks of Mission, which help explain how we can live out our faith.

 

 

 

 

Tell 

Preaching that connects the Gospel to everyday life.

Running regular discussion groups about faith.

Encouraging people to share their faith stories in their day-to-day lives.

Using social media and community events to communicate Christian hope.

 

Teach

Offering baptism and confirmation classes for adults and children.

Small groups or home groups focused on Bible study and prayer.

Providing youth groups, children’s ministry, and intergenerational worship.

 

 

Tend 

Running Cuppa & Craft, regular Soup Lunches, and supporting the Community Cuppa.

Visiting the sick, elderly, or isolated in homes, hospitals, and care homes.

Offering pastoral care or a listening ear to anyone in need.

 

Transform

Speaking out against poverty, racism, human trafficking, or domestic violence.

Partnering with local charities.

Encouraging ethical consumption.

 

Treasure

Running eco-churches.

Teaching theology of creation care in sermons and study groups.

Organising community clean-ups, tree planting, or conservation projects.
